Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Fido Innovative Solutions Ltd ("Fidova", "we", "us"), RC 1900685. By creating an account or using the Fidova app, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. What Fidova does
Fidova helps buyers and sellers trade safely. When a buyer pays for an order through Fidova, we hold the payment until the order is delivered and confirmed, then release it to the seller. Fidova is not the buyer or seller in any transaction, and we don't own, inspect or guarantee the goods or services being sold. Payments are processed by a licensed payment provider.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
- The information you give us must be accurate, including your name, phone number and bank details.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and verification codes secret, and for activity on your account.
- Tell us immediately if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. How a transaction works
- Agreement: the buyer and seller agree the item or service, price and delivery terms. These are between you and the other party.
- Payment: the buyer pays the agreed amount, plus any fee they've agreed to cover. We hold it while the order is in progress.
- Delivery: the seller delivers and marks the order as delivered.
- Release: the buyer confirms delivery, and the payment is released to the seller's Fidova wallet. If the buyer neither confirms nor raises a dispute within the confirmation period shown in the app, the payment is released to the seller automatically.
- Cancellation: before the buyer pays, either party can cancel the order. After the buyer pays, only the seller can cancel, and the full order amount is refunded to the buyer's Fidova wallet. Once an order has been dispatched, it can't be cancelled; use a dispute instead.
4. Disputes
If an order isn't delivered or isn't as agreed, the buyer can raise a dispute before the payment is released. Held funds stay frozen while we review it. We may ask both sides for evidence, such as chats, delivery receipts or photos. We'll decide in good faith whether to release the funds to the seller, refund the buyer, or split them, and that decision is final as far as funds held by Fidova are concerned. It does not stop either party from pursuing other legal remedies against the other.
5. Fees
- A Fidova fee of 1.5% of the order value, with a minimum of ₦100 and a maximum of ₦10,000 per order. The minimum order is ₦500. When creating the order, you choose whether the buyer or the seller pays it.
- When you pay by card or bank transfer (to fund your wallet or pay for an order), a payment processing fee is added: 1.5%, plus ₦100 on payments above ₦2,500, capped at ₦2,000. Paying from your Fidova wallet has no processing fee.
- Withdrawals to your bank account carry a small transfer fee (currently ₦10–₦50 depending on the amount).
- All applicable fees are shown in the app before you confirm. We may change fees with notice; changes don't affect transactions already in progress.
6. Wallet and withdrawals
Your Fidova wallet shows money you've added, or received from completed orders. You can withdraw it to a Nigerian bank account, which must be in your own name. Withdrawals are normally processed quickly but can be delayed by banks or by our payment provider. We may hold or reverse funds that we reasonably believe are linked to fraud, a chargeback or an error. Wallet balances do not earn interest.
7. What you must not do
- Use Fidova for illegal goods or services, fraud, money laundering or financing crime.
- Use someone else's identity, phone number, card or bank account.
- Make fake orders, deliveries or disputes, or try to manipulate reviews.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to our systems.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and report suspected crime to the authorities.
8. Liability
We provide Fidova "as is". We aren't responsible for the quality, safety, legality or delivery of goods and services traded between users, or for losses caused by a third-party provider such as a bank or payment processor, beyond what the law requires. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
9. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time by contacting us, once open transactions are complete and your wallet balance has been withdrawn. We may close or suspend accounts as described in section 7, or if required by law.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant. Continuing to use Fidova after that means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the courts of Nigeria.
